Pre-Wax Protocol

Important

You CAN NOT wax if you:

  • are on acutane
  • Have used retinol within 2 weeks of your appointment
  • have active eczema or a sunburn.
  • Have a fresh tattoo (must wait it least 5 weeks to wax over a tattoo)
What if I need to cancel my appointment?

Waxwell’s cancellation policy requires a minimum of 12 hours notice to cancel without getting charged 50% of your appointment booking. No-shows also will be charged a 50% charge of your service booked. We strive to provide the best customer service and to achieve this proper scheduling for both our aestheticians and our clients is required.

We understand emergencies happen. We will do our best to accommodate under these circumstances within the 12 hour cancellation time period. Please call the studio.

Can I get waxed if I have a sunburn?

To ensure the best service and maximize comfort our policy is to not wax if your skin is irritated and/or sunburned. Allow a few days for the skin to heal and book your next waxing reservation.

Can I get waxed if I’m on medication?

We recommend you check with your doctor first. Please note that we cannot wax if you are currently taking Accutane or have taken it within the last 6 months.

I’m nervous for my first wax. Does waxing hurt?

Everyone has a different scale for pain tolerance. What’s painful for some may not be painful for others. At Waxwell we aim to make your experience as comfortable as possible with our atmosphere and expert estheticians. If you’re still a bit worried try taking an aspirin or ibuprofen 30 minutes prior to your appointment.

Waxing frequently will help with sensitivity as your hair will grow in softer and finer. Check out our monthly memberships.

How long does my hair have to be to get waxed?

You’ll get the most out of your wax if your hair is 1cm long allowing the wax to fully adhere.

Can I get waxed if I’m on my period?

We can wax if you are on your period. You will need to wear a tampon or diva cup. Keep in mind you may be more sensitive during this time.

Can I wax if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

Waxing and sugaring is completely safe while pregnant and breastfeeding. In fact a lot of women opt for waxing and sugaring hair removal as they can no longer see down there to groom with their growing belly.

What do I wear for my bikini wax?

Entirely up to you. Whatever will make you comfortable, however, underwear with the least amount of coverage is best. We also provide disposable underwear, just ask your esthetician.

What kind of wax do you use?

We use high quality, Italian made hard wax for sensitive skin and cream soft wax depending on the area, skin type, and hair type. Hard wax is used for sensitive areas such as the face and bikini. Soft wax is used with a muslin strip for large surface areas to make for a speedy service.

Can I bring someone into the treatment room with me?

Our mission is to provide high quality services therefore only the esthetician and the client are allowed into the waxing room during the appointment. For clients 16 and under, parents/guardian are permitted to be in the waxing room.

For the Guys

Not required but will assist with a smooth service.

1. We recommend having 1cm of hair before your wax. Too much hair can make the wax process longer. Too little hair can cause the wax not to attach properly.

2. Cleanse: prep your skin with a warm shower prior to your wax appointment.

3. Skip the lotions, oils, and serums prior to your wax appointments.

Stay well-maintained and save on services.
